UniTS will basically involve two principal investigators in the present project. Laura Ballerini is an electrophysiologist with 10 years experience in spinal neurophysiology and cell culture. Laura Ballerini has provided important contribution to the understanding of spinal network physiology, plasticity and development. Maurizio Prato is a leading figure in nanotechnology and has been working for many years on the organic functionalization of fullerenes and carbon nanotubes for applications in materials science and medicinal chemistry.
